Flavorless meats, poor guac & queso
by sean82much

Our first trip to Jalapeno's will definitely be our only trip to Jalapeno's.
The salsa was tasty, but the queso tasted watered down. The guacamole had little flavor and didn't seem fresh. Either the avocado had gone bad or the guac had been made a couple of days ago.
We made an effort to try several things, without success. The green chicken enchiladas were a combination of flavorless chicken and bland tomatillo sauce. The tamales weren't good either, tasting like they may have been from a can and/or covered with chili from a can. Lots of good tamales at nearby stores, thought they'd probably get them from one. Beef enchilada was cold; the beef was also flavorless and it was smothered in the same chili as the tamale. Cheese enchilada was smothered in the watered down queso, not much to like there.
The chicken flautas were fair. Plain chicken in a fried tortilla, so not much challenge there.
I could see why they might not flavor the beef and chicken in the meals, electing to keep things simple and cover in a tasty sauce. You can go along way in Mexiacan food with some tasty queso, chili, and tomatillo sauce. Gotta have good tamales too though.

Good Mexican Food

The food at Jalapeno's is always good. They have good service and we like the complimentary queso along with salsa and chips.

I'm not sure if it's still offered but they have had a great "fajitas for two" special on weekdays Sunday through Thursday.

Good prices.

Great All You Can Eat

The dishes that can be refilled are the most fun. I love their beef tacos, chicken enchiladas and tamales.
We found the restaurant in Allen to be a bit more friendly and environmentally appealing.
